The inhumane conditions of Bradley Manning's detention

http://www.salon.com/news/opinion/glenn_greenwald/2010/12/14/manning

They can't get to Assange and they didn't break any law so what do you do as the morally superior country? That's right, you apply psychological torture to someone who hasn't been charged with or convicted of any crime. You break his mind, destroy his soul and slowly but surely drive him insane. But hey, anything goes if your the US and someone is deemed an enemy of the state. Almost the entire civilized world sees this as inhumane treatment except for the US apparently. The greatest country on earth? I don't think so.

I wonder who wil be the first to justify this kind of torture? Trident1, Andronicus Ry or maybe Bloodshot Scott?

So do something about it. Or are you just looking for an argument?

The thought that the government might fuck him up never crossed his mind? ha. ha. hahaha. I used to work as a prison guard. Trust me, you'd rather the cops take you out than spend time behind bars.

Why the fuck did this guy mention me in the first post? :dunno:

And the only Manning I give a fuck about wears #18.

By those standards every Marine Corps recruit is being tortured. I swear, the world has become so pussified. There has been no denial of food; no enhanced interrogation (although there should be); he hasn't been forced to watch the Cincinnati Bengals or worse, the Minnesota Vikings.

No sympathy for this asshole, especially if he's wearing #18.

This story, all the way through, is complete horseshit. Solitary confinement is now torture? Give me a fucking break, I'm not even going to dignify that asinine concept with reasons why solitary isn't torture, of which, there are several. If this guy is indeed guilty of what he's being accused of, leaking classified government information, that's treason. Treason isn't exactly jaywalking, no matter which way one looks at it. And if he did indeed leak this classified government information to Assange, he's a traitor to the US, and he should be hung by the neck until dead on pay-per-view.

Aside from that, let's just say for the sake of argument that Bradley is being "tortured." He's not, but let's pretend for a second that he is. Where, then, are all the staunch liberals that should be clawing down the door of the White House and demanding that Obama do something about this or face impeachment? Bush and Cheney were very loudly and publicly called war criminals by the left for similarly detaining foreign nationals accused of terrorism. Bradley, is an American citizen, and soldier no less (of whom the safety of which the left portends to care so deeply about) that, in the minds of many liberals, is being held unjustly and is being "tortured" on American soil. Where are the cries from people like Keith Olberman, Rachel Maddow and John Stewart for the impeachment of Obama for his inaction and apparent apathy towards this situation? I guess calling for the impeachment of Obama for not stopping the "torture," of "innocent," American soldiers isn't a politically savvy move for the CNN crowd?

What a joke.

What's Peyton's touchdown/interception ratio this year?

His brother has been ravaging my fantasy league of late.

"All within the state, nothing outside the state, nothing against the state" is the best government policy of all time.

He was actually an all-state wide receiver and was planning on attending the University of Mississippi before suffering a career ending injury. Obviously, you don't use google that well...

well he has been charged with a crime.
and given the nature of the alledged crime i can see where no bail and solitary confinement is warranted.
he is accused of a very serious thing.

i do wonder what the delay is though, try him soon and be done with it, or dont and release his sorry traitor ass, then pick him up later working at some carwash in jerkwater, usa
