Can anyone confirm or deny this? (with proof that is better than my student who automatically is good proof because she's Japanese, in Japan and likes anime) |

| well there is something similar to proof that this isn't true, that being that there is no proof that it is. in most cases the lack of evidence is stronger proof than actual evidence, so there being no word of this on the official Gintama website or any Gintama fansite i've been to says that it probably isn't. you should probably ask your student where she got wind of this. |

| NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO my friend told me the preview said Gintama is entering its final arc, but I hope they are just pulling our legs x__x even though the subs have been sparse up until recently, I was always comforted that it's there in the background and savoring every sub that was suddenly released... as pathetic as it sounds I can't imagine life without Gintama T____T it's probably the only show that I want to go on forever.... because it has no plot it could do it too >_< wahhhh my new (jewish) year wish is that this rumor is not true T___T |

| I heard this about a week ago. They're catching up to the manga and are running out low on material. We'll probably have to wait until sometime around spring for an answer. And I don't mean to scare anyone, but there is also a rumor about the manga ending as well: "Sorachi had an interview in Akamaru jump a while back and when he was asked when Gintama would end, he replied that '30 volumes would be nice......But he also stated in the same interview that he wants to do a Sakamoto arc, an Otose arc, and a Sacchan arc before he wraps things up. With only 4 volumes to go I seriously doubt he'll do all of that and still get to Gintoki's past, AND Kamui. So I don't think we have anything to worry about for now....." Found - HERE |

| I could forgive Gintama for going on break for year or until they have good amound of material gathered. Even tho Gintama doesn't have a "real plot", it still could have shitty fillers. Look at Bleach and Naruto. Eww. Let it have a break and continue with fresh material~ Real fans would understand~ |

| After researching a little on where the manga stands from where the anime is, I was also concerned that it's nearing the recent chapters. But the fact it's gonna end soon? Nooooooo wayyyyyyyyyy!!!! I hope the last arc will be epic no mercy stuff all around. Dedicated to the whole Joishishi past with Takasugi, etc. |

I also assume that many episodes, despite being in the manga, are mostly filled with 'filler-type' stuff, as according to wikipedia some of them only take up 1 manga chapter. Those episodes are still good. Im not trying to say fillers are good, im saying they can be, and that most of Gintama fillers are good, episode 1+2 excluded. Even so, Gintama should not have mass fillers, but the occasional ones are alright. According to ep 124 and 125, yes, it is ending, and from reports ive heard, it has something about it on the sunrise site saying 'thanks for support' and that they hope for support if they restart the series (I'm not 100% sure on this.) |

| Well, Gintama DVDs are always top sellers, so that's not an issue I think :\ I'm sure theres huge support from the fans in Japan, so I wouldn't doubt that they're just going to take a break and start up a new season. And I mean, they're bringing back Hajime no Ippo, and that came out of nowhere. Why not bring back Gintama too, right? And...andandand... ;_; |

| According to my sources, the current rumor going around 2chan is that Gintama will go into a "Masterpiece collection" over the summer (in other words, fan favorites), and pick up again with new stuff in the fall. |

| I didn't notice it was ending... o_O maybe they'll have a summer break, but haven't heard about it. as for new staff I hope it doesn't mean that seiyu and director will be changed, though it would great to hire more staff for animation. |

New stuff not staff XD Part of Gintama's comedy is thanks to the amazing seiyuu they have, changing they would automatically kill the series, imo. | Well, the other possible problem is that all Japan channels have to switch their broadcasting to hd) i don't know the specifics but it seems to be pretty expensive, maybe that's why staff (stAff ;)) are planning a "summer-break" to gather all profit from dvd's (Gintama the movie (dragonbleapeace XD) also) and other "fan things" that's what i think) |
