it really does not make sense people keep referring to the mc by the original name when you change it. i called the mc idiot and so got the sentence "idiot? short for francis?". it just does not work if you allow the player to change the mc name.

Well, you found a bug. One of a few/many with the MCs name. Didn't look into the code, but I know that Single Again isn't always consistent with the naming. You would need to inform the dev about it, if you want to have chance that this will change in the future.

There's no point in informing the dev, you should inform the modder. The game is designed for the name not to be changed, so that's a mod error, not a game error.

You can rename the MC without a patch and the implementation is lousy, so I say that goes to the dev. I didn't care that much even too some Francis are still there even after I renamed it.
Yet, he should ideally learn and use how the handle the names via variables instead of plain text even if he might not need it here.

Okay, I admit forgetting he put that in at some point, although even in the implementation he's pretty unenthusiastic about it, making me think it was more of an unwilling concession than desire on his part. But you're right otherwise, since he implemented it, it could have been more player-friendly.

They'd make a good cock sleeve. Other than that, I agree, the only reason I can think of for them being there is as a clumsy way to explain something that happened in the story.
Having said that, I suspect that 90% (and, yes, I plucked that figure out of thin air) of people who play these games don't really care that much about the story anyway...

He's not wrong. Rebecca admits as much, she has been manipulating events for a few years at the start of the story. And continues to do so. The MC seems aware of it too and begrudgingly goes along with it, though the story doesn't really give the player any agency with her in this matter.
